'Telangana puli' faces extinction - The Times of India: "Telangana puli, the majestic striped tiger, that once roamed this region is on the verge of extinction. In the entire 1,14,840 square km, according to National Tiger Conservation Authority, only five tigers are left. Of the remaining 67 big cats in Andhra Pradesh, 60 are found in Nagarjunasagar-Srisailam Tiger Reserve (NSTR) and seven in the East West Godavari-Visakhapatnam belt."
