One in seven couples nearing retirement has second home | Mail Online: "One in seven couples in their fifties and early sixties owns a second home, official figures revealed yesterday.

On average, they have nearly £250,000 of ‘money’ tied up in their second homes – excluding any mortgages on them.

This property wealth doesn’t include the value of their main residence.
The figures, from the Office for National Statistics, offer an insight into the second home ownership of this exclusive group."
