Tapuriah is a co-accused with Ali in the money-laundering case and has told the Enforcement Directorate about Ali's political links. Tapuriah reportedly told ED that Ali bought a diamond worth Rs 1.2 crore for Chaudhary from a hawala trader, an accusation which has not gone down well with the former Union minister.
Tytler told TOI that Chaudhary has already said that she has never met Ali which contradicts Tapuriah's claim that he introduced her to the controversial businessman.
An angry Renuka said, "I am really upset about this and I will definitely take legal recourse. He (Tapuriah) needs to prove he knows me or has met me. He is in trouble and is name dropping to wriggle out and we politicians are supposed to be defenceless. We are bashed and left to prove ourselves."
